The Provincial Grand Lodge of Ghana North of the Free Masons has donated a Blood Bank Refrigerator to the KNUST Hospital. The Blood Bank Refrigerator has a capacity of two hundred and fifty units. The donation is in support of the Hospital and as part of their Social Responsibility in support of healthcare.
Johnny Owusu, A Member of the Provincial Grand Lodge, made the presentation on behalf of the Chancellor, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Mr. Owusu noted that the group has supported the Hospital in diverse ways over the years.
Mr. Kobby Yebo Okrah, the Registrar and Dr. Yaw Bio, the Director of University Health Services of KNUST, received the equipment on behalf of the University. Dr. Yaw Bio was full of praise for the Chancellor and the Provincial Grand Lodge. He stated that the KNUST hospital does not only serve the medical needs of the University community. He said, currently about seventy five percent (75%) of the people who visit the KNUST Hospital are those outside the University. The donation would therefore go a long way to help them improve on their services. He also assured the donors that the equipment would be put to good use.
Present at the ceremony were executive members of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ghana North and some members of the University Management.
